1.Microsporogenesis
– Within the anthers, diploid microsporocytes (microspore mother cells) undergo meiosis.
– Each microsporocyte produces four haploid microspores.

– Each haploid microspore undergoes mitotic division.
– This results in the formation of a pollen grain, which consists of two cells: the generative cell and the tube cell.
3. Maturation
– The pollen grain undergoes further development and maturation.
– The generative cell may divide to form two sperm cells before or after pollen grain germination, depending on the species.
4.Pollen Wall Formation
– The pollen grain develops a tough outer wall, known as the exine, which is often patterned and sculpted.
– The inner wall, called the intine, is composed of cellulose and pectin.
